IAVO Research and Scientific was recently awarded a Phase One SBIR contract from the US Navy to develop advanced techniques for 3D visualization of geospatial information such as imagery, terrain and buildings. The target platform and end users for this capability are front line military personnel using ruggedized laptops for mission planning and targeting.
“This is an enormous opportunity to provide 3D data visualization to support the warfighter” says Eric Lester, Senior Vice President. “An efficient and simple immersive 3D view of an area of interest supplied at the front lines provides a whole new perspective.”
The resulting capability of this effort, GeoMRSV™ (Geospatial Multi-Resolution Scene Visualization), will be available as an add-on capability to IAVO Research and Scientific’s existing GeoGenesis® geospatial data production and exploitation suite of software in use by the military today. Unlike other 3D capabilities in the market, GeoMRSV™ will be built on the science of photogrammetry providing accurate 3D visualizations of geospecific locations supporting the requirements of precise applications such as targeting and mission planning.
